What is a Prosthodontist?

Prosthodontists are experts in the restoration and the replacement of teeth. They make smiles beautiful and function the way they should. They complete four years of dental school and then continue on for three years of specialized training at an American Dental Association accredited graduate program. Prosthodontists typically work with a team of other health professionals, general dentists, and dental specialists. Prosthodontists are trained to provide the very highest level of dental care.

What are the benefits of going to a specialist?

Rigorous training and a commitment to continuing education allow prosthodontists to offer state-of the-art comprehensive care.

How is Cantwell Dental Group different?

Dr. Cantwell's office offers digital radiographs to minimize your exposure to radiation and to minimize the use of harmful chemicals in the developing process. This also makes it easy to process your insurance claims…even your x-rays can be emailed immediately.
Dr. Cantwell is a specialist in the restoration and replacement of broken and missing teeth. Her training lasted an additional three years after her four years of dental school. During that time she was taught in greater detail both removable and fixed prosthodontics. Removable prosthodontics includes replacing missing teeth with appliances that the patients themselves can take in and out of their mouth, such as dentures and partial dentures. Fixed prosthodontics includes replacing missing and/or broken teeth with restorations that the patient cannot take out, such as veneers, crowns, bridges and implants.
